The meta-owned messaging app is developing a new feature that lets channel owner transfer their ownership of their channels. Channel admins have to first designate a recipient to whom they give ownership must be assigned to the channel admins.

Once the recipient becomes the admin of the channel then the channel creator will be able to transfer their channels to the new admin.
