The new feature enhances user privacy by giving more control to users over whether or not links sent in their chats are automatically previewed, preventing third-party websites from tracking these interactions.

The new feature has been discovered on the iOS beta version 24.7.10.76. Some beta testers for iOS can experiment with the new privacy settings to disable link previews after installing the latest WhatsApp beta version for iOS. They can now protect their IP address from being inferred by third-party websites by preventing the automatic generation of previews when sending links on chats.
One of the important things to note is that the new disable link previews feature work only for those users who opts for it. Other participants in the conversation will still be able to generate rich link previews for their links unless and until they choose to disable the new link preview feature.
The new privacy feature to disable link preview is rolling out for some beta testers on iOS. The new feature is available on the WhatsApp for iOS beta version 24.7.10.76.
