WhatsApp is rolling out the new Protect IP Address in Calls feature. It is the new privacy feature that allows users to protect their IP address in calls. Users can enable the additional layer of privacy and security as the connection is relayed through the WhatsApp Servers.

The meta-owned messaging app is releasing the new protect IP address in call feature for some beta users. The new IP address in the call feature has been discovered on the iOS beta version 23.23.1.70. There will be a new section called “Advanced” which will be available within the Privacy settings screen.

The new Protect IP address in calls feature is available within the Advanced section to ensure a more secure experience during voice and video calls. The meta-owned messaging app will enhance privacy by implementing more robust measures to prevent others in a call from determining your location and IP address once you enable the new feature.

When the users make the calls on their device then it will be securely routed through the WhatsApp servers that ensure an extra layer of security. Users’ audio and video calls will remain end-to-end encrypted even if the new protect IP address in calls feature is enabled.

The new Privacy feature to protect the IP address in calls is currently rolling out for some iOS beta testers. The new ability to protect IP addresses in calls is available on the iOS beta version 23.23.1.70.
