Samsung has finally launched its much-anticipated Galaxy S24 Series at the Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event. The S24 Series includes three smartphones Samsung Galaxy S24, Samsung S24+, and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.

1. Design
All Galaxy S24 lineup smartphones come with a flat display. It is different from Samsung’s slightly curved display on the Ultra variant. The Galaxy S24 and S24+ have a squared-off design with rounded corners and slimmer bezels. Galaxy S24 Ultra has a titanium frame same as the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
While the Galaxy S24 and S24+ still have the enhanced armor aluminum frame. All three smartphones S24, S24+, and S24 ultra are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 3 on the front and back. Finally, Samsung is offering the IP68 rating for the S24 lineup for water and dust resistance. The S24 Ultra also comes with a built-in S Pen.

2. Display
The S24 smartphone features a 6.2-inch Full-HD+ LTPO AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2,600 nits of peak brightness. The Galaxy S24+ features a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ LTPO AMOLED panel with up to 120Hz and peak brightness of 2,600. However, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra sports a 6.8-inch Quad HD+ LTPO AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and the same 2,600 nits of peak brightness.
3. Performance
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The Galaxy variant of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 boosts the Cortex-X4 CPU core from 3.3GHz to 3.4GHz and GPU runs at 1,000 GHz.
There is a larger vapor chamber (up to 1.9x) for enhanced cooling performance. There is also the Ray Tracking support and faster gaming control. One of the most important things to note is that Galaxy S24 and S24+ have Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for the Galaxy Chipset in the US. However, the Galaxy S24 and S24+ have Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2400 chipset for the rest of the world.
4. Camera
The Galaxy S24 and S24+ have a standard 50MP image sensor, a 10MP telephoto lens that can optically zoom up to 3x, and a 12MP ultrawide lens. There is also a 12MP selfie shooter sensor that can do space zoom up to 30x.

However, the Galaxy S24 Ultra has a similar camera setup to the S23 Ultra. The Galaxy S24 Ultra has an upgraded high-resolution 200MP primary sensor, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens (5x), a 10MP zoom lens (3x), and a 12MP ultrawide lens. The 50MP periscope lens can optically zoom up to 5x.
The S24 Ultra offers up to 100x space zoom and supports 8K video recording. It is also using AI Zoom for better zoom quality across all ranges and to improve zoom shots at night. There is a 12MP selfie shooter with dual-pixel autofocus.
5. Galaxy S24 AI Features
Samsung has recently announced its in-house generative model, Samsung Gauss which can generate summaries, translate texts and audio, generate images as Bing Image Creator, and much more.
It is bringing Live Translate to the S24 series which can translate your real-time speech during calls to other languages with the addition of Galaxy AI. It also works when you message on other apps.
The new S24 lineup has a “Circle to Search” feature that allows users to highlight an image using the S Pen and it can quickly pull results from the Web and display information. The S24 series can also summarize documents, enhance images using Generative Edit, compose emails, etc using its generative model.

Galaxy AI features will be available for use in the Samsung Keyboard and Notes app for webpage summarization, sentence rephrasing, and conversion of handwritten notes to well-formatted text.
6. Storage
The Galaxy S24 starts with 128GB UFS 3.1 storage. There are two more variants 256GB and 512GB variants available to unlock faster UFS 4.0 storage. All three variants have 8GB RAM.
The Galaxy S24+ has the same storage variants starting from 256GB. It has UFS 4.0 storage options from 256GB and 512GB along with the standard 12GB RAM on all variants.
The new Galaxy S24 Ultra starts with 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage and goes up to 1 TB. It has 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM on Ultra variants.
7. Battery
The Galaxy S24 is backed up with a 4,000mAh battery that can be charged from 0% to 50% in 30 minutes using a 25W charger. The Galaxy S24+ is backed up with a 4,900mAh battery and can be charged 0% to 65% in 30 minutes. The new S24 Ultra comes with a 5,000mAh battery that can be charged from 0% to 65% in 30 minutes with a 45W charger.

8. Colors
The Samsung Galaxy S24 and S24+ come with the same four color options Onyx Black, Marble Grey, Cobalt Violet, and Amber Yellow. However, the S24 Ultra comes with four color options Titanium Black, Titanium Grey, Titanium Violet, and Titanium Yellow.
9. Price
Samsung Galaxy S24 (8GB+128GB) variant starts at $7999.99. Samsung Galaxy S24+ (12GB+256GB) variant starts at $999.99. However, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra (12GB+256GB) starts at $1299.99.
