Meta is working on testing the new (Artificial intelligence) AI-powered chatbot Meta AI on Instagram. The new Meta AI is similar to Bing Chat which can Answer questions, write poetry, and generate images with a simple text prompt.

Meta testing AI-powered Chatbot in Instagram
The Meta spokesperson said that the company’s AI-powered experiences are under development in various phases, and the company is testing a range of them publicly in a limited capacity. Also, the placement of the Meta AI feature on the app differed for some users.
Some users may find the Meta AI in Instagram’s search bar just like WhatsApp. At the same time, some users found it in the Direct Message (DM) inbox. Users can access the Meta AI by tapping on the Meta AI icon in the search bar and interacting directly with the chatbot one on one like ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini.

The Meta-AI functions as a general-purpose assistant that can answer a range of questions, including real-time information. It also provides a link to the Google search results page for the specific query and sources used to provide the answer in a footnote.
Users can also generate text and images, summarise long pieces of text, help with writing tasks such as proofreading, and editing, translate text from one language to another, and create poems and stories among others using the Meta-AI.

They can also use the assistant in their existing personal and group chats to get advice or ask questions on Instagram. The Meta-AI is powered by a custom AI Large language Model Meta AI (Liama). Some beta testers on Instagram also getting the Meta-AI AI-powered chatbot.
