It will provide users with an additional way to access their WhatsApp account once their email address is confirmed. One of the important to note is that your email address will not be visible to your contacts.
This new feature will also help users to log into their WhatsApp accounts. Many users are not able to log into their WhatsApp account because they don’t receive the 6-digit code via SMS so they can get the code via email to log into their account.
The new email verification feature is optional. Your email address will be automatically verified if you use your Google account to back up your chat history on Google Drive or have set up two-step verification previously.
The new email verification feature is currently under development. However, the meta-owned messaging app will soon roll out the new email verification feature for the WhatsApp beta version for Android.
