WhatsApp has rolled out a new feature to hide the IP address to prioritize the users’ security and safety. Users can use the Protect IP address in calls feature to shield their IP address during calls and location from the other side of the call.
Today I am explaining to you about WhatsApp’s new ability to shield their IP address during calls. You have to read this post till the end to know more about the new ability to hide the IP address during the calls from others.
WhatsApp Hide IP Address in Calls feature
The meta-owned messaging app released a new feature for calls that lets users add an extra layer of security to their calls on WhatsApp by protecting their IP address and location from whoever’s on the other side of the calls. You can use this feature when you are calling others on WhatsApp and want to protect your IP address and location then it will work as a shield.
How to Enable WhatsApp Protect IP Address
To enable the Protect IP Address feature, you have to WhatsApp on your device and then tap on the three dots at the top of the right corner. After this tap on the Settings option and then tap on the privacy option.
Scroll down on the Privacy section and you will see the Advanced option at the bottom. Tap on the Advanced option and tap on the toggle to enable the Protect IP address in calls.
One of the important things to note is that when the user enables this feature, it may slightly affect the quality of the calls. This happens because when you call someone, it will be routed through WhatsApp Servers instead of directly between your devices.
