The forward message limit was set up to the 5 chats simultaneously. Users can only forward messages up to 5 chats at a time. When the same message is forwarded 5 times that means it is frequently forwarded. WhatsApp identifies the frequently forwarded message with the double arrow icon. The frequently forwarded messages can be only forwarded to 1 chat at a time, as per WABetaInfo reports.

Now, most of the users are thinking that if the forwarded or frequently forwarded messages are end-to-end encrypted then how the WhatsApp know. The message contains a hidden flag that keeps track of how many times it has been forwarded. You can’t see that hidden flag. You don’t have to worry the hidden flag doesn’t keep track of who was the previous sender. This flag is just a counter that increased every time when you forward the message. So there is no chance for a trace.

• Even if the message is frequently forwarded, it is not a confirmation that it’s real: you have to pay more attention if the message is frequently forwarded because it might contain wrong information that went viral, WABetaInfo reports.
• If a text message is frequently forwarded then you can quickly search it on the web to verify if it’s real or not. You have to tap on the search shortcut on WhatsApp for Android and iOS to verify those messages.
