WhatsApp is working on a new shortcut that lets users block a contact within the chat list. Users will be soon able to block contacts within the chat list without opening a conversation. Now it is also developing an alternative shortcut to block contacts within notifications.

WhatsApp will introduce a new block shortcut within the notifications to block users. But the new block shortcut is not always for users, the new block shortcut will be visible only when you receive a message from unknown and untrusted contacts.

The limitation is needed for a block shortcut within notification as people may tap on the block action by accident when replying to notifications to their known and trusted contacts.
