It is also working on the New Flash Call. This new feature allows users to verify their phone numbers automatically when they try to log into WhatsApp. It will ask users for new permission to access their phone’s call log. It will verify automatically if you have received the call that would give you access to your WhatsApp account once you grant the permission to the app to see your call logs.

The app will call you on your phone number and end the call automatically, verifying if it’s present in the call log so it’s really a fast call. WhatsApp will use this to confirm when you have received the call. Verifying the last phone number on your phone log is equal to that number giving you a 6 digit code. The last phone number is always different or changing so there is no way to spoof this method, ensuring a safe experience.
