WhatsApp developing on New Flash Call

According to the WABetaInfo feature of WhatsApp, it is working the New Flash Call. This new feature allows users to verify their phone numbers automatically when they try to log into WhatsApp.

It will ask users for new permission to access their phone’s call log. It will verify automatically if you have received the call which will give you access to your WhatsApp account once you grant permission to the app to see your call logs.

Also, Read Set the Color Call Flash call screen on the incoming call

The app will call you on your phone number and end the call automatically, verifying if it’s present in the call log so it’s a fast call. WhatsApp will use this to confirm when you have received the call. Verifying the last phone number on your phone log is equal to that number giving you a 6-digit code. The last phone number is always different or changing so there is no way to spoof this method, ensuring a safe experience.

Now WhatsApp is working on an introduction for the feature to explain why it needs permission to make and manage calls and access to your phone’s log, as per the WABetaInfo report.

  • Flash call feature won’t be implemented on WhatsApp for iOS:- Apple doesn’t allow any public API to read the call history, so this feature won’t be implemented on WhatsApp for iOS.
  • Whatsapp won’t use your call history for other purposes:- WhatsApp won’t use this feature for other purposes. It will just compare the last entry from your call history with the phone number that’s supposed to call you.
  • This feature is optional:- This feature is an optional feature whether you can use or don’t use the feature depends upon you.

Tap on the Not Now option to don’t use this feature and verify it normally as previously. This feature is currently under development and it will roll out soon.
