How to download and install Nothing OS 5.0 Open Beta
One of the important thing is that before installing the latest OS open beta, your three phones Phone 4a, Phone 3a, and Phone 3a Pro have the latest Android 16 firmware. If you are using any of these phones and have the latest Android 16 firmware, then follow these steps to download and install the new NOS OS 5.0 open beta:
- Users have to download the Nothing Beta Hub v2.0 app on their phone from the Official website.
- Go to Settings >System > Nothing Beta Hub, then tap on Check Version.
- Tap on the Join Beta button to register for the update.
- Wait for a few minutes, and the Open Beta update will be seeded to your phone once you are done registering.
- Tap on Go to initiate the OS update.
Nothing warns users about installing Open Beta updates, as they may contain bugs. If your phone gets bugs or becomes unstable on the beta, then you can roll back to the older Nothing OS 4.1.
One important thing to note is that rolling back to the previous OS 4.1 updates will erase your data, so update with new Open Beta updates with caution. The NOS OS 5.0 Open Beta access will stay open for 7 days. It is expected that the general release of the OS will be in early November 2026.
The new OS update brings a new Lucent theme with depth and blur effects, new widgets, Glyph Timer, and Collector. Additionally, Glyph gets a dedicated Glyph app with improved animation. It has some AI features, including faster voice transcription, Smart Collections, and Model Context Protocol.
