Instagram has rolled out the Disable Read Receipts feature for DMs. Users can turn off the read receipts to avoid replying to messages with ease. The new ability to turn off the read receipts feature rolled out for the DMs (Direct Message).

Instagram Disable Read Receipts in DMs
Adam Mosseri, the CEO of Instagram has announced the new feature via his broadcast channel that, Instagram is testing the new turn off the read receipts so that there is no seen status at all. He said in the post, “We heard your feedback and have started testing a new feature that allows users to turn off the read receipts in their DMs”.
The new ability to turn off Read Receipt is similar to WhatsApp which was introduced a long time ago for users. It doesn’t turn the double tick blue when the user enables it on WhatsApp. Now users can do the same on Instagram.
The new disabled read receipts will be available under Vanish mode in the Privacy and Safety Settings section. The new ability to disable the read receipt for DMs is currently available for some beta testers. However, Instagram will soon release a new feature to turn off the read receipt for everyone on Android and iOS.
