WhatsApp rolling out Voice Status updates
WhatsApp is releasing the ability to record and share voice notes via status. You can now record voice notes and share them via status. The new Voice status update will be shared with your Contacts based on the users’ privacy settings. Users can easily access the new feature and share their voice notes as status updates.
As you can see in the given image, the new feature allows users to share voice notes as status updates within the text status section. Some lucky beta testers can able to use the new feature and share voice notes as status updates if this feature is enabled for them.

As you can see in the image there will be a recording button within the text status section. You have to tap on the recording button to record your voice and share them as status updates. WhatsApp is also offering more control over their voice recordings to the users by offering the discard option to discard recordings before sharing them.

Note that the new Voice notes status updates are end-to-end encrypted so only the people you choose within your privacy settings can listen to your voice notes status.
