WhatsApp Text Status with Disappearing option
The meta-owned messaging app is working on a new feature for status that will provide greater control to the users over the visibility of their profile information. Users will be able to set a temporary text status that will automatically vanish after a specified duration.
This feature provides greater control over the visibility of personal information and contributes to increased privacy by letting users share temporary updates without having a persistent text status associated with their WhatsApp profile.
Users will have the ability to choose a timer so that the description associated with their profile disappears after the selected period of time. There will be four durations 24 hours, 3 days, 1 Week, and 2 Weeks for text status. But the Never option is currently not available in the status timer.
The absence of the Never option in the status timer won’t allow users to associate a persistent text status to their profile in the future. It also means that users have a limited-time text status that encourages them to share an updated text status that always reflects their current thoughts or activities.
The meta-owned messaging app is also developing several improvements regarding the feature that currently allows users to associate a description with their profile. The new status timer feature is currently under development. However, WhatsApp will soon release a new text status feature with a disappearing option for the Android and iOS beta testers.
