WhatsApp has rolled out a new Archive chat feature that allows users to keep their chat on the Archive Chat until they manually unarchive or remove it from there. Before rolling out this feature, when you receive new messages of archive chat it will appear on the top of your WhatsApp chat.
To enable the New Archive to chat feature you have to open your WhatsApp. After this tap and hold the chat that you what to hide. Tap on the archive button at the top of the screen chat screen bar. But before this, you have to enable the New Archive chat feature.

To enable New Archive to chat feature you have to tap on the three dots on the top of the right side corner. Tap on the setting option and tap on the chat option. Here, you will see the Keep Chat Archive option. You have to toggle this option to enable the New Archive Chat feature on your WhatsApp.
