This newly redesigned menu comes with a large and scrollable layout. It combines pinned apps, recommendations, and all apps together. You no longer need to click extra buttons. Everything is visible on one single screen.
You can now view all apps easily below. The “All apps” list appears just below the recommendations. This layout saves time and feels more useful.
By default, the pinned section shows only two rows. But users can expand it for more app space. Earlier, only three rows were allowed for pinned apps. Now, up to eight apps can fit in each row.

You can try the new Start Menu right now

Start by joining the Windows Insider Program. It is free and takes just a few minutes. Log in with your Microsoft account on the website. Then go to Settings > Windows Update and choose Beta Channel.
After the updates are installed, restart your computer once or twice. The new Start Menu is not yet active by default. You need to unlock it using a tool called ViVeTool.
Download ViVeTool and run it on your system. Open Advanced Options or press F12 in the tool. Then, turn on these feature IDs:

If these do not work, try enabling 48433719 first. Then restart your computer.

Now open Settings > Personalization > Start to find options. You can remove pinned or recommended items easily. You can also view only the full list of apps. This gives you a clean and wide Start Menu.
