WhatsApp rolling out a new Lock Chat feature for the Android beta

WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature Lock Chat for users. The meta-owned messaging app is releasing a new feature that offers an additional tool to protect and hide certain conversations.

WhatsApp rolling out new Lock Chat feature

WhatsApp is releasing the most requested feature for users to lock their chats and the ability to hide certain conversations. It offers an additional tool to users to protect their chats. Users need to use their fingerprints to unlock their chat in order to open it.

They can see the chat lock option in the chat info. They will see a new section called Locked chats when enabled this option will appear within their chat list. Users can open this section by unlocking it with their fingerprints. The locked chat can only be accessed using the user’s fingerprint once the chat is locked.

The new lock chats feature is currently rolling out for Android beta users. The new ability to lock the chats feature is available in the Android beta version 2.23.9.14.
