WhatsApp has released so many features for its users on Android, iOS, Desktop/Web, and UWP. There are several improvements launched for the calling feature for Voice and Video calls. These improvements include the message or mute call participants, calls links, etc.

  • 32-Person calls:- Users are now able to do video calls on their phone with up to 32 people simultaneously just like with voice calls. Video calls with up to 32 people are four times the number of people before the people limit. Join private group calls with up to 32 people is secure with end-to-end encryption.
  • Message or mute call participants:- Users can quickly message and mute the call participants in case they forgot to mute them.
  • Call links:- Users can now share an invite link so other people can quickly join their call on WhatsApp. The Call links feature is end-to-end encrypted.
  • Colorful Waveforms:- Users can see the new voice waveforms and understand who is speaking when their camera is off by seeing voice waveforms.
  • In-call banner notifications:- With the new in-call banner notifications feature the user is notified when someone joins the group call in real-time thanks to an in-app banner.
  • Picture in Picture on iOS:- Multitask while on a call to a minimized in-call video screen. The new Picture in Picture on iOS rolling out in the new year.
