The meta-owned messaging app is developing a new feature that will allow users to create a username. They will be able to personalize their profile and connect with other users using a new unique identifier. They can easily find the users with the unique identifier and connect with their contacts using the new feature.
When this feature is available, users can choose the username that helps other users to find and contact other people without needing their phone number. Users will have also the ability to change their username at any time so it is worth nothing because you need to know the username whenever they change their username to find them.
One of the important things to note is that when the users connect through their username on WhatsApp, the meta-owned messaging app won’t disclose their phone numbers to each other.
The new ability to create a username from Web Client is currently under development. However, the meta-owned messaging app will soon release a new feature to create the username for Web beta testers.
