WhatsApp new choose username for account feature
The new choose username feature has been discovered on the WhatsApp Android beta version 2.23.11.15. The meta-owned messaging app is working on introducing the new ability to choose a username within the settings option.
It will introduce a dedicated section for the username within the Settings option under the Profile settings. Users will have the opportunity to add another layer of privacy to their account with the new choose a username feature to secure their account.
Users will be able to choose a unique and memorable username for their account and now they will have the other option “Username” to identify contacts instead of relying solely on the phone number. The meta-owned messaging app may offer users the ability to reach other peoples’ accounts by entering a username within the app without knowing their phone number by allowing users to choose a unique username for their accounts.
The new feature to set up a username for a WhatsApp account is currently under development. But WhatsApp will soon roll out the new ability to set up a username for an account for beta testers.
