WhatsApp Channel Admins feature rolling out for Android beta

WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature called channel admin. The Channel Owner can now invite new admin for their channel. They can choose additional admin to help them manage their channel using this new feature.

WhatsApp Channel Admins Feature

This new feature has been discovered in the Android beta version 2.23.26.5. The new channel admins feature is available in the channel info screen and allows the channel owners to invite administrators. Some channel owners can now add up to 15 new admins to their channels with the flexibility to invite up to 15 contacts.

However, they need to accept the invitation before gaining channel administrative access. The channel new admin can modify the channel name, icon, description, and settings to manage which emojis can be used for update reactions.

This feature offers enhanced control and management capabilities, particularly beneficial as the channel expands in size or activity. The new admin of the channel can contribute to increased channel activity and efficiency by assisting in posting and managing additional content to ensure regular updates.

When the channel owner invites you then you are visible to other admins. Admins for the channel can see your phone number, profile picture, and name, but followers can’t. But one of the important things to note is that channel admins are restricted from deleting the channel to safeguard the integrity and continuity of the channel.

The new feature to allow channel owners to invite new admins is currently rolling out for some beta testers. This feature is available on the Android beta version 2.23.26.5.
