Xiaomi has officially launched its new Redmi Note 17 5G phone in India. This year, Xiaomi focuses on battery life and refreshing the phone design instead of only upgrading camera hardware like other phones and other brands.
Users will see a large OLED display and a huge battery upgrade on the Note 17 5G phone.

The new Redmi Note 17 5G features a standard squircle camera island design. It has only a single rear 50MP Lens compared to the dual 108MP + 8MP setup on the Redmi Note 15 and an 8MP selfie shooter. The new Note 17 phone has also dropped the curved design with a flat frame and rounded R-corners.
Redmi Note 17 phone sports a 6.9-inch full HD+ OLED Display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 2396 x 1080-pixel resolution, and 1800 nits of peak brightness. Indian variant phone is smaller than the China variant of the Redmi Note 17 by 0.1 inches.
It is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 Chipset paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage on board.
The phone is backed up with an 8000mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. It runs on Xiaomi Hyper OS 3 based on Android 16 out of the box. It is IP65 rated for water and dust resistance.
For Connectivity, there is Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, dual-SIM 5G, and a USB Type-C 2.0 port. This phone comes in three color options: Dark Night, Arctic Blue, and Starlight Purple.

The Redmi Note 17 5G costs Rs 27,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. While the 8GB RAM + 128GB Storage model costs Rs 30,999. The Note 17 5G phone will go on sale from August 12, 2026, on Amazon and the Xiaomi official India website. Users will get an instant Rs 3,000 bank discount via SBI, Axis, and Kotak Bank Credit cards.
