How to share live location on WhatsApp

There are two types of location options Live location and Current location available on WhatsApp to share with your contacts. The live location provides real-time updates of your whereabouts for a specified duration. However, the current location allows the recipient to only see a pin location.

Send Live Locations on Android

To share the live location on Android, you have to open WhatsApp and go to the individual or group chat to whom you want to send the location. Tap on the attachment icon in the message box and a menu will appear. Select the Location option from the menu.

Once you select the Location option, you will see the two options Share Live location or send current location. You can choose any option depending on your preference. If you choose the Share Live Location, you can choose the duration of your location sharing.

Select your preferred time duration and tap on the send button at the bottom right corner to share your live location with your chat. You can also stop sharing your location before the time you set for it. You have to tap on Stop Sharing at the bottom of the location-sharing message.

Send your location on WhatsApp for iPhone

You have to open the app and go to the chat to whom you want to send your location. Tap on the (+) Plus icon then select the Location option from the pop-up menu. Tap on the Share Live Location or Send your current location. If you want to stop sharing live location just tap on the Stop sharing button.
