WhatsApp working on a new Lock Chats Feature

WhatsApp is developing a new feature that will allow users to lock their specific chats. They can lock their specific chats using their fingerprint or passcode on WhatsApp. This feature offers an extra layer of security to keep the users’ sensitive conversations safe from prying eyes.

Users can lock their most private chats within the chat’s contact or group info and enhance that chat privacy. When the user adds their chat to the list of their locked chats then it will only be available within the Locked chats screen. The locked chats can only be accessed using the user’s fingerprint or passcode.

Your locked chats won’t be opened without your fingerprint or passcode which makes it nearly impossible for anyone else to open your chat. If someone tries to access your phone and fails to provide the necessary authentication (Your fingerprint or passcode) then they will be prompted to clear the chat to open it.

The new chat lock feature also helps users to keep their media private. It ensures that media files (photos and videos) sent in a locked chat are not automatically saved to the device’s gallery. The media files sent in a locked chat can only be saved to the device’s gallery manually.

The new lock Chats feature is currently under development. But WhatsApp will soon release the new lock chats feature for Android beta testers.
