WhatsApp is working on a new image quality feature that lets users send images in the best quality, as per the WABetaInfo. Recently it has also started working on a similar feature for videos. Users can choose the quality of the videos before sending them to their contacts on WhatsApp. Now it is working on the same feature for images. Users will also see the same three options Auto (recommended), Best Quality, and Data saver for images.

  • Auto (recommended): It will automatically detect the best compressing algorithm for the specific images when the users send the images to their contacts.
  • Best quality: Users can select the best quality option to send the images on the best quality available for the images.
  • Data Saver: If the users have enabled the Data saver option on the android settings then It will compress the quality of the images. Users can save the internet data while they send the images using the Data Saver option. This feature is currently under development and WhatsApp will roll out this feature soon for both Android and iOS users.
