WhatsApp working on the Audio chat feature
WhatsApp recently added the ability to place group video calls with up to 8 people and audio calls with up to 32 people for Desktop users. Now it is working on new features for calls for Android users. It is developing the audio chats feature that is available within the conversations.
According to the WABetaInfo, the feature tracker of WhatsApp, there will be a new waveforms icon will be added to the chat header that lets users initiate audio chats. There will be a red button for ending the ongoing calls.
There will be some additional space available for the red button and for displaying audio waveforms. The waveform icon signifies the potential for real-time audio visualization, it is plausible that the space above the chat header could be reserved for displaying audio waveforms, as per the report.
The meta-owned messaging app will provide a minimalistic interface that allows users to view audio waveforms while navigating between the users’ conversations, as per WABetainfo.
The new Audio Chats feature is currently under development. But WhatsApp will soon roll out the new Audio chats feature for the Android beta.
The meta-owned messaging app is also working on the new video messages feature. With the help of the new video message feature, a new way to communicate with friends, users can send short video messages to their contacts.
