WhatsApp cover photo privacy feature
The meta-owned messaging app is working on the new cover photos for the personal profiles feature. Users can personalize their personal profile with a wide cover image displayed above their profile with this new cover photo feature.
The cover photo will be configurable directly from the WhatsApp settings, that make the setup intuitive and consistent with existing customization options. They will be free to change, reposition, or remove the image at any time without affecting their profile photo or account information.
The meta-owned messaging app is working on adding a dedicated privacy section that lets users control who can view their cover photo. It will offer greater control over how their profile appears to others.
The privacy settings will be similar to the privacy controls the meta-owned message app offers for Last Seen, Profile Photo, and About. These privacy settings will make it easier for users to understand how to manage the visibility of the cover photo when they open the privacy section for settings.
There will be four option “Everyone”, “My contacts”, “My contacts except”, and “Nobody”, same as Last Seen, Profile Photo, and About. If the user chooses Everyone, that means the cover photo can be seen even by people who are not saved in their contact list. If the user chooses My contacts, that means limited users whose contact numbers are saved in the address book can see the cover photos.
The cover photo Privacy feature on the personal profile is currently under development. The meta-owned messaging app will soon roll out the Cover Photo privacy feature for WhatsApp for iOS beta testers.
