WhatsApp new end-to-end encryption backup feature

WhatsApp’s new feature allows users to secure their backups from unauthorized persons. Users’ chat history will be secure with the encryption security feature which means no one can read their chat history. Users have to set the password to secure the chat history and media backups.

They have to enter the password to decrypt their backups when they restore their chat history and media on WhatsApp. In case the users forget the password then they won’t be able to restore their backups.

But it supports the encryption key that will help users to restore their passwords. It also contains the numeric digits and lowercase letters between ‘a’ and ‘f’. If the users forget the key or lose the key then WhatsApp won’t help users to restore their passwords.

The password is private and it won’t be shared with its parent company, Facebook, Apple, and Google as per the WABetaInfo. After setting the end-to-end encryption feature no one can read the users’ content.

Your chat history and media backups are secured with an end-to-end encryption backup feature and unauthorized persons won’t be able to access your content. This feature is currently rolled out for beta version 2.21.15.5. It will roll out soon for all versions.
