The Government of India bans Snack Video and 42 other Chinese apps. The Indian Government banned 118 Chinese apps including the PUBG Mobile in September. Before this, the Indian Government banned 52 Chinese apps. Now the Government of India bans 43 Chinese apps. These apps are banned due to security reasons.
The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre that comes under the Ministry of Home Affairs reports about these Chinese apps. The Government of India also says in a statement that these apps were engaged in activities prejudicial to sovereignty, integrity, and defense of India, the security of the state, and public order.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (Meity) bans these Chinese apps. The Government not only banned these apps in India but also blocked under Section 69A of the Information and Technology Act.
