Google had a massive event called I/O 2022 on Wednesday. During the event, the tech giant unveiled new gadgets and updated its popular navigation program, Google Maps, with new capabilities. The Google Pixel 6a was revealed by the tech giant while showcasing new digital gadgets.

The Google Pixel 6a is a much-anticipated ‘cheap’ smartphone. After nearly two years, Google will finally bring its Pixel 6a smartphone to India. The Pixel 6a will soon be available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

“Pixel 6a is packed with the same strong brains, Google Tensor, and many of the must-have features as our premium phones Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, at a reduced price of $449,” said Soniya Jobanputra, Director of Product Management at Google.

The Google Pixel 6a comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, and the company has only released one storage type. The smartphone costs $449 (approximately Rs 35,000) and is similar to the Google Pixel 5a. The phone is available in three different color options: black, mint green, and gray/silver.

When it comes to the phone’s availability, the tech giant has stated that it would be released in India later this year. However, the corporation has yet to announce a particular availability date and time.

The Pixel 6a has a 6.1-inch full-screen display with a hole punch cutout in the middle, a standard 60hz refresh rate, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. Aside from that, the phone is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The Google Pixel 6a sports a 6GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 internal storage and is powered by Google’s own Tensor processor. When it comes to the smartphone’s battery, the Google Pixel 6a has a 4306mAh battery that enables fast charging.

Users might get 24 hours of battery life and 72 hours of battery life while using the smartphone in extreme battery saver mode, according to the tech giant.

A 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens are included in the phone’s dual-camera configuration.

Users may also shoot 4K video at 30 frames per second and 4K time-lapse with stabilization with the smartphone. Meanwhile, the phone’s punch-hole display houses an 8-megapixel sensor on the front.

“With a Camera Bar that features dual rear cameras: the main lens and an ultrawide lens, Pixel 6a helps capture your most important moments,” the company stated.
