Google has sent emails to all the YouTubers which is bad news for them. This news is not good for those YouTube content creators who are outside the U.S. YouTube sent an email to all the YouTubers to inform them about the upcoming tax changes to YouTube earnings. The YouTubers who are from the US will not have to pay any additional tax burden. But the YouTubers who are outside the US will need to pay the US taxes from their payments Google informs in the email.

Google said in the email “Over the next few weeks, we’ll be asking you to submit your tax info in AdSense to determine the correct amount of taxes to deduct if any apply. If your tax info isn’t provided by May 31st, 2021, Google may be required to deduct up to 24% of your total earnings worldwide”.

The important thing to understand about the new policy is that tax will be deducted when you earn from US viewers. It will not apply to the outside viewers. Tax will be deducted from the earnings from US viewers not from the views of the ad but also the Super Chat, Channel Memberships, Super Stickers, and YouTube Premium. The last date to submit all this is 31 May 2021.

If you don’t submit tax information You have to pay 24% of your total monthly earnings from YouTube from all the users
If you submit tax information and are eligible for treaty benefits You will have to pay a 15% tax on the money you make monthly from viewers in the US
If you submit tax information and are not eligible for a tax treaty Pay a 30% tax on the money you make monthly from viewers in the US
