Apple Black Unity Collection Rhythm: Apple officially launched its 2025 Black Unity Collection ahead of Black History Month, which starts on February 1: A special-edition Apple Watch band, a watch face, and a wallpaper suitable for the iPhone and iPad.
Black History Month is honored in the collection together with black culture. Apple claims that the “rhythm of humanity” influenced the drop this year. Appropriately called Unity Rhythm, it has black, green, and red, the colors of the Pan-African flag.
Apple is helping numerous companies with grants in line with this collection drop, as in years past.
Among these are the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music in New Orleans, the Battersea Arts Center in London, the Music Forward Foundation in Los Angeles, and the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.
Also The National Museum of African American Music in Nashville, Tennessee. Black creatives at Apple along with partners developed the 2025 Black Unity Collection.

A Closer Look at the Black Unity Sport Loop
The Apple Watch’s limited-edition Black Unity Sport Loop is the centerpiece of this collection. The raised and recessed loops in this band’s distinctive woven design produce a dynamic lenticular appearance. The hues change from green to red when the wearer moves their wrist, with a faint yellow tint appearing in between, signifying the human rhythm and flow.
The band is compatible with various Apple Watch models, including the Series 4 and later, the Apple Watch SE and the Apple Watch Ultra, because it comes in 42mm and 46mm sizes. The Black Unity Sport Loop, which retails for $49 in the US, £49 in the UK, and AUD $69 in Australia, can be ordered online and will be available at Apple Stores this week.

Introducing the Unity Rhythm Watch Face and Wallpapers
Apple has released the Unity Rhythm watch face to accompany the Sport Loop. In this artwork, red, green, and yellow threads are woven together to make numerals.
As the user raises their wrist, the watch face uses the gyroscope sensor of the Apple Watch to convert these threads from abstract brush strokes into readable numbers. The immersive experience is further enhanced by unique rhythmic chimes that indicate the hour and half-hour.
There are corresponding Unity Rhythm wallpapers for iPhone and iPad users. Reflecting the collection’s idea of rhythm and movement, these wallpapers feature bespoke lettering that spells “Unity,” dynamically shifting orientation depending on whether the device is locked or unlocked.
An upcoming software update will make the Unity Rhythm watch face available on the iPhone XS and Apple Watch Series 6 or later. iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3 devices can now use the Unity Rhythm wallpapers.

Design Inspiration and Cooperation
A team of Black creatives and allies inside Apple worked together to create the Unity Rhythm collection. Intricately combining the colors of the Pan-African flag, the design represents a common heritage and the interdependence of the Black population worldwide.
This year’s collection’s main concept, the “rhythm of humanity,” is embodied by the Sport Loop’s dynamic color changes and the watch face animations.
